A Chattanooga man was arrested Tuesday night for kidnapping his wife and holding her hostage at gunpoint.

When Chattanooga police arrived at the home on East 41st Street, Weylon Wilson was calm and followed police orders.

But earlier that night, Wilson allegedly pushed his wife into the bedroom at the residence and held her at gunpoint, keeping her there against her will, according to the arrest report.

The couple was having domestic and child custody issues, police said.

Police recovered the semi-automatic weapon in the front yard of the home.

Wilson was arrested without incident.
