CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Monday marked the beginning of a new era on UTC's campus. The long-awaited new library officially opened providing a great new addition when classes resume next month. The 48-million dollar, four-story facility has seating for 2100 people, hundreds of desktop and laptop computers, and a media studio with music- and video-editing software.
The new library has 40-percent more space than the old Lupton Library, which will be converted into classroom space. It's located in the center of campus, at Vine and Douglas, and includes a Starbuck's. The 4th floor consists of a reading room, which offers great views of downtown Chattanooga. Once classes are in session, the library will open most nights until 2:00 a.m.
