GA theater says Christmas shows of 'The Interview' sold out
ATLANTA (AP) - An Atlanta theater showing Sony Pictures' movie "The Interview" says all five of its opening day shows have sold out.
Plaza Theater is among about 300 independent venues showing the comedy that depicts the assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jung Un.
The first screening is scheduled for Thursday at 4 p.m.
Sony has allowed theater screenings after initially pulling the film after hackers threatened violence against moviegoers. Large theater chains have maintained the blackout, with Sony opting for a broader online release that launched Wednesday.
According to the Plaza's social media accounts and online ticket office, tickets remained as of noon Thursday for Friday shows and beyond.
The Plaza plans five screenings daily through Monday, with four daily screenings scheduled for the following three days.
