Chattanooga Christmas Day garbage collection rescheduled

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

The City of Chattanooga has rescheduled garbage and recycle collection, normally scheduled for Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2014, to be collected on Saturday, December 27, 2014.  

There are no changes in garbage or recycle collection scheduled for Christmas Eve, the day after Christmas Day, or New Year's Day.  

The city reminds us to consider recycling packaging material through curbside recycle collection or at any of the five recycling convenience centers and consider donating instead of disposing of lightly used items.  

Residents may also call 311 to schedule collection of Christmas trees or use any of the recycling centers or refuse collection centers for drop-off locations or visit the city of Chattanooga's government website.

Red Bank residents: Thursday (Christmas Day) collection has been rescheduled to Monday, Dec. 29.

Friday (Dec. 26) collection will be Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Collegedale residents: Thursday (Christmas Day) collection has been rescheduled to Friday, Dec. 26.

East Ridge residents: Thursday (Christmas Day) collection has been rescheduled to Friday, Dec. 26. for both sides.

Signal Mountain residents: Wednesday (Christmas Eve) collection has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Thursday (Christmas Day) collection has been rescheduled to Friday, Dec. 26.
