UPDATE: Firefighters responded to two house fires on Chattanooga's east side just two days before Christmas.

Dispatchers confirmed there were no injuries reported in either fire.

Firefighters first responded just after 4:30 a.m. to a house fire in the 1400 block of Bradt Street. The Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee is assisting.

About an hour later, firefighters were called to a second fire at 4207 12th Avenue. It took about 15 minutes to get the fire under control.

"911 callers advised that the house was vacant and was occasionally used by homeless people," said Battalion Chief Chris Willmore. "The structure was search and no one was found."

The exact cause for both fires is under investigation.
