Dining out this busy weekend before Christmas?
The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department inspected 34 restaurants this week. The good news? No failing grades to pass along to you. Remember, a failing grade is any score lower than a 70. But getting awfully close at a score of 75 is Hungry House Restaurant on highway 58.
Inspectors found whole raw eggs that were out of proper temperature range and two dozen eggs had to be thrown out. There was evidence of smoking in the kitchen by employees. That means the inspector found ashes or a cigarette butt. Waste water was leaking on clean paper cups and the cups had to be thrown away. Also, food was found not covered properly.
The high score of the week, and there should be a lot of holiday cheering for a grade of 98 at Noodles and Company in downtown Chattanooga.
I also want to thank Jack Falcon and his team of inspectors for their hard work each week in keeping us healthy. Happy holidays to the entire Environmental Safety team!
