24 people facing charges after drug trafficking investigation
A total of 24 people are facing charges as part of an investigation into a heroin and cocaine trafficking ring based in East Tennessee.
A federal grand jury indicted 11 people, including nine Blount County residents on federal drug charges Tuesday.
According to a release, the grand jury indicted Blount County residents David Mayes, 57; Robert Cannon, 53; Jenni Fair, 40; Oliver Hicks, 46; Ladonald Hodge, 52; Joshua Kruse, 35; Joshua Millward, 41; Loretta Templeton, 49; and William Templeton, 52. New York residents Jerome Boone, 58; and Gordon Yearwood, 56, were also indicted.
According to court documents, Mayes would travel to New York to get cocaine and heroin from Boone. Documents state that agents learned Yearwood facilitated those meetings.
