Atlanta police plan update on homeless killings
ATLANTA (AP) - Police say they plan to discuss a suspect accused of killing two homeless men as they slept on the streets of Atlanta and the separate slaying of a female hairstylist in Decatur.
Atlanta police are planning a news conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday at police headquarters.
Aeman Lovel Presley was arrested on two counts of murder for the November deaths of the two homeless men, 42-year-old Dorian Jenkins and 68-year-old Tommy Mims.
Decatur Police Sgt. Jennifer Ross said later that Presley also faces a murder charge in the Dec. 6 death of 44-year-old Karen Pearce. Pearce worked as a hairstylist, and police have said she was shot on a Saturday night after leaving a restaurant in downtown Decatur.
Jail records do not list an attorney for the 34-year-old suspect.
