UPDATE: DeKalb Co. Corrections supervisor arrested FBI now investigating

DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WRCB) -
UPDATE:  The arrest of DeKalb County Corrections supervisor for extorting money from an inmate has led to an investigation by the FBI.  
Agents will continue the investigation and present their findings to the US Attorney for possible federal charges.
Brian Crowe was released Monday after posting a $5000 bond.

 A DeKalb County Corrections supervisor is behind bars for allegedly extorting money from an inmate and using his position to bring contraband into the jail. 

Forty-four year old Brian Crowe of Fort Payne was taken into custody following an investigation into a tip indicating that Crowe was involved in suspicious activity. 

Crowe was booked at the DeKalb County Detention Center on charges of Extortion 1st degree and Promoting Prison Contraband 3rd degree. He is awaiting bond on those charges. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
