Chattanooga, a destination for growing technology

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - Chattanooga has been named one of eight U. S. cities as a destination for growing technology, that is according to Huffington Post and Citi.  

Called "Gig City", Chattanooga is the first city to offer one-gig-per-second internet to its customers, making it a perfect spot for tech startups. 

Gig City Gig Tank has joined with investors and entrepreneurs to accelerate the city's startup culture by offering a program where teams, entrepreneurs and students, compete for funds for new ideas. 

The other seven cities on the list are:
  • Miami
  • Boston
  • Detroit
  • New Orleans
  • Cincinnati 
  • Houston
  • Washington, D.C.
