HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) - A violent sex offender is behind bars after authorities say he removed his monitoring device and fled to Kentucky.

Stanley Dople, 48, was convicted in 2004 of attempted aggravated sexual battery of a two-year-old girl in Oneida.

On Oct. 27, probation officers received a tamper alert. The last known location of the device was in Strunk, Ky. Dople is not authorized to leave the state, according to the affidavit.

Dople, who has listed addresses in Ooltewah and Winfield, has a bond set at $300,000. He now faces charges of violation of sex offender monitoring and violation of community supervision for life.

He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 6 before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Clarence Shattuck.
