U.S. 27 south paving expected this week

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - Paving on U.S. 27 south will start at 9:00am each day this week, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Taking advantage of the expected good weather, paving operations will reduce the lanes from Signal Mountain Road to the Olgiati Bridge. Striping and lane marking will also be part of the work.

Motorists can also expect temporary ramp closures at Signal Mountain Road, Dayton Boulelard and Manufacturers Road.

As paving is completed for each ramp, the ramp will be re-opened. Congestion is expected during this work, and TDOT urges motorists to be patient and use caution.

In addition, the TDOT Bridge Repair crew will be making permanent repairs on a large pothole on U.S. 27 South near the 4th Street exit.
