Convenience store employees want stricter policies when working late nights

DALTON, GA (WRCB) -

Two men robbed a North Georgia gas station at gunpoint and a couple witnesses saw the whole thing unfold.

Store employees say they want stricter policies when it comes to working late at night.

Vicky Brown called the Whitfield County Sheriffs Office late Tuesday night, telling a detective she noticed two men acting suspicious in a gas station parking lot in Dalton.

In that same location is where a robbery took place inside just moments later.

According to the police report, the store employee was held at gunpoint by two men wearing masks.

Two witnesses that were standing outside when this happened, gave police a description of the two suspects. Witnesses told police the two men were in their late 20's around 6 feet tall and they were seen driving a white truck.

One store employee tells Channel 3 off camera, they hope the suspects are caught and that their company changes their policy, making it mandatory to have two employees on staff during a night shift.

If you have any information contact the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office at  (706) 278-1233.
