UPDATE: Georgia State Patrol halts search in possible hit and run

CATOOSA COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -
The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) has halted its search regarding a possible hit and run.
The victim suffering head trauma was taken to the hospital. Officers were able to talk with him Thursday morning an discovered he may not have been hit. The victim stated the last thing he remembered was working on the front light and the car hood hitting his head.
The incident occurred between 12:00 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. Tuesday on I-75 north near mile marker 352, which is across from the Welcome Center.
Corporal Bonaparte with the GSP reports a tractor trailer driver saw something in the right lane of I-75 north. The driver swerved to miss and realized it was a person. The driver stopped and called 911.
