Bradley Co. woman arrested for beating boy with riding crop

BRADLEY COUNTY - A Bradley County woman was arrested for abuse after striking an 8-year-old boy repeatedly across the back with a horse riding crop.

Bradley County Sheriff's Office began investigating after the boy failed to attended school Monday.

While visiting the home, a deputy noticed the injuries on the boys back.

Members of the BCSO's Criminal Investigations Division and the Tennessee Department of Children's Services were notified.

Amanda Prince, 33, was interviewed by deputies and admitted to hitting the boy numerous times on the back with a riding crop.

Deputies took Prince into custody and charged her with child abuse.

Prince was booked into the Bradley County Jail and since been released on bond.
