VFL Gerald Riggs Jr. breaks down importance of Vols bowl game
Red Bank graduate and former Tennessee running back Gerald Riggs Jr. said, "they took a huge step, any step going forward, especially where things started out when he took the job. Getting that win and into a bowl game it's another chance to practice which means more reps for everybody, another chance for recruits to see them again. Gives them something to be excited about, it's a big moment for the program."
Momentum that the Vols haven't seen from 2010.
The latest bowl projections have the Vols playing anywhere from the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, to the Birmingham Bowl, to the Music City Bowl in Nashville.
Wherever they end up playing. Riggs is just happy they're playing in a bowl and credits the change in culture that Butch Jones brought, "I like the progress he's made, I think the program is in a good place. You see it with recruiting, you see it with overall attitude, that atmosphere when your on campus during the week or on game day. Just a winning attitude, something that's been lacking before he got there."
