EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Aaron Jones ran for 147 yards and a touchdown and had a 72-yard receiving touchdown and UTEP intercepted two passes in the final 90 seconds to preserve the Miners' 24-21 in over Middle Tennessee on Saturday night.
Middle Tennessee had a first-and-goal from the 7 when Jameel Erving picked off Austin Grammer. The Blue Raiders used their timeouts and forced a punt but Wesley Miller picked off an A.J. Erdely Hail Mary pass on the final play of the game.
After Jones took a Jameill Showers pass 72 yards to give the Miners (7-5, 5-3 Conference USA) a 10-7 lead early in the second quarter the lead changed hands five time. Showers had the game-winning score on a 5-yard run with 6:19 left.
Grammer rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown for the Blue Raiders (6-6, 5-3) and Shane Tucker had 101 yards and two scores.
