Through 13 games all wins in 2014, Rhea County didn't trail more by more than 14 at any point. Until Friday night.
West jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the second quarter. It could have been 35-0 if not for a Tyler Pendleton interception on the goaline to end a West drive before the half.
The Golden Eagles ran for just 13-yards in the first half, a season worst, but they went to work in the second half.
Zach Daoust capped off an 80-yard opening second half drive with a three yard touchdown for Rhea.
Still in the third quarter, quarterback Daniel Dotson cut the lead to 14 with a short touchdown run.
Rhea County would pull within seven before the third quarter closed as Dotson hit Jared Andrews for a 20-yard score.
Down 28-21 in the fourth with under six minutes left, Dotson and Andrews hooked up again, this time from 15-yards out to tie the game at 28.
West started to eat clock on their final drive and with 13-seconds left quarterback Seth Marshall let it fly from 30-yards out, Jeremiah Russell pulled it down in the endzone for the games final score.
Rhea County finishes the season 13-1.
