Savannah's Christmas wish

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - Savannah Phillips has just one wish for Christmas and it's a gift she could never open herself. The 7-year old's only wish is to collect and wrap one toy for each kid spending their Christmas at Erlanger's Children's Hospital.

It is a place she knows all too well. She spent many holidays there after her doctor found pre-cancerous cells during a check. Her mother, Jennifer Philips, says "Savannah had a bone cyst on her growth plate. They had to fill it in with bone marrow. She knows what it's like to spend Christmas at the hospital".

The 1st grader now attends Ringgold Primary and looks forward to playing softball with her friends after class.

Savannah's mother says her daughter has come a long way, something her family is grateful for. Savannah spent last Thanksgiving and Christmas in a full spika cast leaving her confined to a hospital bed for 8 weeks. She is healthy again and wants help from anyone who will listen. Savannah's mom went online to spread the word. The first day her mother posted it on Facebook, responses came. Savannah hopes more will like her page and donate a gift she promises to hand deliver to Children's Hospital.
