CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - With Black Friday approaching, we all know navigating the toy aisle can be terrifying. It's an endless maze of toys to entertain and educate, how do you really know what to buy, will the kids like it or toss it aside.

Before you frantically pace the toy department for that "Must have" We asked honest kids to participate in a non-scientific experiment to see what's hot and what's not.

Dancing water speakers, remote control stunt cars, cars that can climb walls and even fly. Tis' the season to know what's hot and what's not.

"I always try and advice people to try and get it done before December 1st," said Mary Beth Conklin, Learning Express Toys.

The clock is ticking, toys will sell out fast. Most retailers put out a Christmas list showing what they think will be the hottest 15 toys of the year. Early lists vary. To make it easier, we decided to turn some Chattanooga toy stores into playrooms. At Learning Express, kids who tested out Sands Alive said it was better than Play-Doh.

"It like sticks together, you can make towers it's easier than regular sand," said Carter Garrett, 9 years old.

Also a hit at Learning express, the remote control flying E-bird. It will cost mom and dad about $33 dollars.

"Did you try and hit my photographer on purpose with that E-bird? ' "Maybe, I like it because it flaps it's wings really fast," said Reilly Conklin, 8 years old.

One of Toy's R Us' Top 15 items is the Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles Stretch n' Shout Leonardo. 4-year-old Zachary tells us he prefers Hot Wheels Street Hawk Flying Car at $60 dollars.

"My dad flew it and it went go," said Zachary.

Air Hogs R-C Roller Copter has an exterior rolling cage that acts as a shield giving pilots confidence.

"I like that it can go anywhere and when you fly it it really goes high," said Davis Garrett, 8 years old.

That will cost around $45 dollars. Transformers $80 dollar Stomp and Chomp Grimlock changes from a dinosaur to robot in seconds. Getting more attention, the Zoomer Dino who can roar and even dance.

"Thumbs up!," said Zachary

The $60 dollar Max Tow Truck with turbo mode can pull or push up to 200 pounds and Furreal Friends get up and Go Go Walking Pup barks, sits and walks along also for $60 dollars. Like most little girls 6-year-old Mae Thomas is shopping everything Frozen.

"I like it because it's sparkly," said Thomas.

If there is a common "Top of Every Toy List" item it's Disney's singing Elsa doll just under $40 dollars.

After testing all of the top toys in the store for boys, Hot Wheel's Street Hawk Flying Car took first place. For the girls, no surprise here -- the Disney Frozen Snow Glow Elsa doll is a winner.
