Good Monday. We have a warm and windy start to the week. A WIND ADVISORY is in effect until 1pm eastern. Winds in the valley will blow from the southwest at 10-20 mph through the early afternoon. In the mountains, winds will blow from 15-30 mph and gusts could get up to 45 mph. Because of the southerly component to the wind, we will stay warm all day with highs in the low to mid 60s.
Tonight we will see the winds tapering, and cooler weather settling back in. Lows will drop into the upper 30s heading into Tuesday morning. Tuesday afternoon will see a very average high of 57.
A weak front will push through Wednesday. It may bring an isolated shower to the area Wednesday morning, even a light snow shower is possible in the mountains. It will clear out in the afternoon, however, with a high in the mid 50s.
Cooler air behind that front will move in for Thanksgiving Day. Thursday will start with a low of 35 in Chattanooga. We may even see a few flurries on the Plateau and in the Blue Ridge during the morning. Highs will only climb into the mid to upper 40s in the afternoon with a bit of a breeze from the northwest at 10-15 mph. The coldest air with this system will be Thursday night as we drop into the upper 20s and low 30s.
We will begin to gradually warm back up Friday through the weekend. Friday's high will reach 51. Saturday the high will climb back to about 60. Sunday will reach 60, with rain showers likely for the first half of the day.
