PIKEVILLE, TN (WRCB) - UPDATE: The Bledsoe County Sheriff's Office tells Channel 3 that they have found the body of 69-year-old Charles "Baldy" Frederick Tuesday afternoon.

Frederick's body was found near a creek behind Retro Hughes Road.

Family members, some of whom participated in the search themselves, have been notified.

Frederick's family began searching the wooded area, where he was last seen by a friend, late Monday night.
They returned Tuesday morning with four-wheelers, horses and multiple emergency management teams.

"We're just going to keep going and keep looking until we can find something."
Abby Mason and her family have not heard from 69-year old Charles Frederick for nearly 40 hours.

"No one has seen him since Sunday night," Mason said, "The last person who saw him was his friend Ray Brown, he says that the last time he saw him was around 10 p.m. Sunday evening."
Mason doesn't know why her grandfather was visiting the woods, or how he lost his way, but she does know he wasn't equipped to stand the cold.

"It's been too cold so I can't really think positively if he didn't get to some type of shelter," Mason said.
Temperatures dropped below freezing overnight and all day Tuesday.

The Bledsoe County Emergency Management Volunteer Director said search parties were covering 8 acres of land.

They believe Frederick was in the woods hunting with his friend, but say he was not dressed for the cold.

"For the man missing our main concern is he's not properly dressed for the weather," said EMA Director Bill Hayne, "It did rain the night before last and the day before yesterday, sub zero temperatures.">
Hours into Tuesdays search, Mason found her grandfather's favorite hat near a creek in the woods.

"His braves baseball cap," she said, "He always had on his braves baseball cap."
That led the search party to the other side of the creek, where Frederick's body was found.

"Unfortunately we located him and he has passed away," said Clay Ingle, Hamilton County STARS, "And right now they are doing an investigation but everything appears to be natural at this time."
Frederick's family will continue to search for answers, and will remember Frederick as a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.

"He always liked to come down to my son's bus stop and sit there with me until my son got off the bus," Mason said, "I haven't seen him since."

TBI investigators were also on the scene in Pikeville.

Hamilton County Search and Rescue Team participated in the search. Investigators have not classified the death and suspicious, but the investigation is still underway.
