NEW YORK (AP) - U.S. health officials say travelers from Mali will be subject to the same screening and monitoring as people arriving from three other Ebola-affected countries.

Mali is not suffering widespread Ebola illnesses. But federal officials are growing increasingly alarmed about a new cluster of seven illnesses in the African country. The illnesses have left health public health workers scrambling to track down and monitor at least 450 other people who may be at risk.

Starting Monday, anyone arriving in the United States whose travel began in Mali will be subject to the same screening procedures that were ordered last month for travelers from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. Those include taking the temperatures of arriving passengers, and questioning them about their health and possible exposures to the Ebola virus.
