BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) - Robots are being used at two Bristol elementary schools to aid teachers in educating students.

Anderson and Fairmount partnered with a company called Lindamood-Bell, which provides professional development for teachers.

Therese Mayo works with the company. She said the robots, which are iPads attached to a Segway, allow the company to continue partnerships over multiple school years and to implement larger projects in more schools.

Mayo drives the robot via a wireless connection and sees and communicates by using FaceTime. She visits classrooms and provides teachers with feedback on their methods, evaluates student progress and skills.

Mayo also operates robots in Michigan, North Dakota, Missouri, and Honduras from her location in Charlotte, North Carolina.
