GA police agency seizes 65 pounds of crystal meth

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Police in Douglas County say an officer found more than $1 million worth of crystal methamphetamine during a recent traffic stop.

WSB-TV reports that Jose Garcia-Contreras was arrested Sunday after being pulled over for a broken tag light and a police dog found 65 pounds of meth under the car floor ( Police say the 64-year-old from Eagle Pass, Texas has been charged with trafficking meth and is being held without bond in the Douglas County Jail.

It is not clear whether he has an attorney.

Lt. John Jewell told the station he isn't sure whether the amount of drugs seized breaks a county record but must be close.
