CHATTANOOGA, TN (GoMocs.com)--University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis head coach Jeff Clark announced the signing of Sydney Patton to a National Letter of Intent today. Patton is one of the top prospects from the state of South Carolina.
"Sydney has been one of the top players in South Carolina her entire junior career,” stated Clark. “She has a great tennis future ahead of her and will make our team better."
A native of Mauldin High School in Simpsonville, S.C., Patton is a four star recruit according to Tennisrecruiting.net. She is the No. 2 rated prospect in South Carolina, No. 42 in the Southeast and No. 123 nationally.
The daughter of Jason and Kelly Patton, Sydney has helped Mauldin HS to three state team championships and is a three-time all-region performer at the prep level. The past year she has represented South Carolina in the USTA Southern Junior Cup, held each fall at the Champions Club in Chattanooga. She has won a Palmetto State doubles qualifier title.
