UPDATE: Crosses hung in memory of Lookout Valley triple murder victims

Posted: Updated:
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA (WRCB) -

UPDATE: Channel 3 was contacted by one the victim's families and they tell us they were the ones who put the crosses up.

PREVIOUS STORY:
Three crosses have appeared in Lookout Valley bearing the names of the three victims of the April 9th triple homicide.

But one of the victim's families says they don't know who put them there.

"He was a funny person, cutting up and telling jokes," said Molly Morris, Jon Morris' sister

Memories and pictures are all that remain of Morris' brother Jon.

"It's been hard and difficult and it's been lonely, [really] lonely," said Morris.

After his death, a memorial was held in his honor, but the family was unable to place a cross in his name.

You can imagine their surprise, seven months later, to see these hanging on the tree; three crosses with the victim's names.

"They're big crosses; they're not just itty bitty, way bigger than a pic gives them credit for. They're beautiful," said Morris.

It's a sight Morris says brought her to tears and she wants to know who to thank.

"We have no idea who did them and we would love to just know who did this act of kindness," said Morris.

Until then, these crosses will serve as a reminder of their loved ones whose lives were taken too soon.

"It means the world to me and my father, I'll be bringing my son back in 10-12 years and letting him see them," said Morris.

Morris says they've contacted one of the other victim's families, but have no way of contacting the others.

So for now the origin of these crosses remains a mystery.
