Hard freeze again Saturday morning

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Good Friday!  We suffered through a hard freeze (several hours well below freezing) this morning, and will suffer through another one Saturday morning.   Highs this afternoon will struggle to get out of the 30s, as the high reaches only 40 in Chattanooga.  Skies will be sunny, but it will also be a little blustery as winds blow from the north at 10-15 mph.

Tonight, the temperature will be dropping rapidly.  We will already be below freezing with a temperature of 30 by 9pm.  By Saturday morning we will be back down into the low to mid 20s.  Protect the pipes and pets Saturday morning.  We will warm into the upper 40s with mostly sunny skies Saturday afternoon.  Sunday, we will be a bit more mild with the low starting out at 31.  Sunday's high will reach 50, and we will see rain showers developing Sunday afternoon.  The rain will last on and off through Monday morning.  I do not expect any snow with this system as the temperature will be in the 40s from Sunday evening through Monday morning and into Monday afternoon.

Tuesday, another blast of cold air moves in.  Tuesday's low will be 25, and the high will reach only 37.  It will also be windy through the day with north winds at 10-20 mph.

Good Thursday.  We have another bitterly cold start today with temps in the low to mid 10s this morning.  Fortunately, our winds are fairly calm this morning so wind chill won't be as much of an issue heading out.
