Athens spa padlocked in human trafficking, prostitution investigation

Posted: Updated:
ATHENS, TN (WRCB) -

Law enforcement in Tennessee raided four businesses suspected of human trafficking and prostitution, including an Athens location.

Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and local law enforcement raided the C&K Spa in Crossville, the Interstate Spa in Rockwood, the Rainbow Spa in Athens and the Royal Therapy in Smyrna.

One woman, Huichu Sandve, was arrested for prostitution at the C&K Spa.

The Rainbow Spa and the Royal Therapy were both padlocked and charges are anticipated.

The Interstate Spa and the Rainbow Spa were the focus of a 2013 investigation that resulted in the closure of spas and massage parlors in the middle and eastern parts of the state. Multiple people were arrested or issued citations for prostitution or other outstanding warrants.
