Central High establishes Luther Masingill Scholarship

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Central High School principal Finley King announced the creation of a communications scholarship in honor of the late Luther Masingill, WDEF radio legend who died recently at the age of 92. 

Luther, Central class of 1941, was a lifetime supporter of the school at both Dodds Avenue and Highway 58 in Harrison.”

The scholarship will be awarded by a vote of the board of directors of the Central High Alumni/Supporters Association after an application and interview process.

The criteria for the scholarship will be a “B” overall academic average, interest in pursuing a career in communications, good character and a financial need.

Donations in any amount should be mailed directly to and in the name of “Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga,” 1270 Market Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37402 and designated as Central High Scholarship Fund-Luther Masingill.
