CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Friends of the Festival staff members and Board of Directors were deeply saddened to hear about the death of Bruce Storey, co-founder of Riverbend Festival.

Without Bruce, Riverbend Festival wouldn't be gearing up for year 34 of the "Tennessee Valley's Family Reunion."  Friends of the Festival expressed their gratitude to Bruce for his vision and commitment to Riverbend and Chattanooga.

Riverbend is the multi-day music and arts festival held annually along the banks of the Tennessee River at Ross' Landing, and debuted in 1982.

Friends of the Festival Executive Director, Chip Baker, said in a news release, "Riverbend was created, like so many festivals around the country, with a group of community leaders and a management team who could turn a dream into reality.  Bruce planted the seed that transformed Riverbend into what it is today, one of the top echelons of festivals in the United States."
