Man enters guilty pleas in 3 separate cases

WALKER COUNTY, GA (WRCB) - A Walker County inmate has pleaded guilty to three separate cases.

Marcus Sutton, 21, pleaded guilty to two assault cases and a manslaughter case.

On September 29, 2013 Sutton and Tyler Roberts called a man and told him they were coming to kill him. They drove to an apartment in Rossville and Roberts fired several shots into the apartment. Sutton pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal damage to property.

On October 30, 2013 Sutton got into an argument with Anderson Watts at a home in Rossville. Sutton shot Watts seven times, killing him. He fled the scene, but was caught a week later hiding at a Chattanooga home. Sutton pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

While in custody of the Walker County Jail, Sutton and another inmate, Brandon Lonas, assaulted a third inmate, Steven Powell. Powell sustained significant injuries. Sutton pleaded guilty to riot in a penal institution and aggravated assault.

For all three cases, Sutton was sentenced to a total of 30 years in prison and 10 years probation.
