UPDATE: Tunnel Hill man dies in morning crash on I-75

UPDATE: An early morning accident Wednesday claimed the life of a Tunnel Hill man.

The Georgia State Patrol says that Robert Thomas Wright, 82, of Tunnel Hill, was northbound on Interstate 75 near mile marker 352 when he experienced a medical emergency and left the roadway. 

His vehicle went off the west shoulder and struck a guardrail about 5:30am.

PREVIOUS STORY: Georgia State Patrol officers confirm they responded to the scene of a fatal crash on Interstate 75 southbound.

Troopers responded to the scene just after 6 a.m. Officials say a vehicle traveling north hit a guardrail and came to a rest in the median.

Officials say the driver was an 83-year-old white man and may have suffered a medical emergency.

Emergency responders performed CPR but the man had already passed.
