One person is in custody after a lengthy pursuit that led law enforcement through north Hamilton County.
Around 5:15 p.m Monday a call came in to the 911 center of a vehicle theft in progress in the 4500 block of Sherry Lane. The suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Kevin Cook of Marion County, stole a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 truck and trailer.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office issued a BOLO to law enforcement agencies. A Red Bank officer and Hamilton County Sheriff's deputy saw the suspect on Highway 27 who refused to stop for emergency vehicles driving through Red Bank, Soddy Daisy and Hixson.
The suspect turned the vehicle onto Ely Road where he lost control and ran through a fence. After crashing, Cook took off behind a residence where law enforcement took him into custody.
Cook faces charges of theft over $10,000, felony evading and felony reckless endangerment.
An official with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office reports that as the investigation continues Cook will have additional charges from this incident.
