GORDON COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -

UPDATE: Gordon County deputies have arrested a man wanted for murder.

Deputies say James Talley was arrested Monday, about a day after the shooting death of a man in the Hill City community.

Investigators say they found Talley's truck abandoned in a rural part of central Gordon County. They found Talley nearby trying to put out a brush fire with a can of beer.

Officials say he started the fire to keep warm and it grew out of control.

Talley was arrested on murder charges. Officials say he had the weapon believed to be used in the murder.

PREVIOUS STORY: Gordon county deputies are investigating a homicide in the Hill City community near the Whitfield County line.

Deputies responded to a shots fired call Sunday night and found a man dead from gunfire. It's not clear the motive at this time.

Investigators say 52-year-old James "Jimmy" Douglas Talley is believed to have shot the man before fleeing the scene in a tan or orange 1977 Ford pickup with Georgia  license plate ASW3536.

Talley is six feet tall with green eyes and short gray-brown hair. He is wanted on murder charges. Investigators advise not to approach him. If you have any information on his whereabouts call 911 immediately.
