SOUTH PITTSBURG, TN (WRCB)-- The Marion County Warriors ended their 8 game losing skid to South Pittsburg Friday night in a game that many of the spectators saw only half of the action.
A nearby fire to an electrical substation cut the power to Vic Grider Field, making for a near 40 minute delay during halftime.
Many fans soon left, but the game would resume with a scant few people along the South Pittsburg sideline.
With the Warriors up 41-6 as play began in the third quarter, the game clock continuously ran, making for a quick second half affair where the Warriors scored a lone touchdown. 48-6 is the final as Marion locks up the district with a perfect 4-0 record, 9-1 overall.
Marion County's Blake Zeman earned WRCB's Player of the Game award, scoring four touchdowns in the first half alone along with some stellar defensive stops.
The Pirates end their regular season at 5-5, 3-1 in district play.
