Athens Police looking for alleged suspect in September burglary

ATHENS, TN (WRCB) -  Athens Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with a burglary on September 27th. 

Police report the victim was at a store when he went to his vehicle to get a drink out of his backpack and saw it missing.  He reported it to the retailers security and was told to call police. 

The backpack was camo in design and had a large amount of hunting items in it. 

The retailer provide surveillance video that showed the victim parking his 2011 Dodge Ram and going into the building.  

The video went on to show the suspect drive up in a maroon Ford Explorer and stop by the victim's truck.  The suspect got out of his truck and walked to the back up the Dodge and took the backpack.   The suspect pulled into a parking spot across from the victim's vehicle.  When the victim left the store, the victim went inside store and then came back out and left. 

The license on the Dodge was registered to a Sam Dennis.  Officers went to the address listed for the tag number and were told by a person in the home that the Dodge had been loaned to  Christopher Kirby and Jessica Chrisman.  The vehicle had been returned. 

Kirby has not been located.  He is being charged with burglary of an auto and theft over $500.
