Posted: Updated:

(KPRC)  A 6-year-old battling a rare type of cancer became an honorary Texas State Trooper on Monday thanks to the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Houston Police Department.

Kyssi Andrews was diagnosed in May 2012 with Wilms' tumor. It's a rare kidney cancer that affects children. She told her mom that it was her dream to keep the roads safe. Monday morning, she was sworn in as an honorary state trooper.

Kyssi got to do a radio call, ride in a DPS helicopter and ride in a DPS patrol car - in her very own uniform. She even got to pull someone over and give them a fake ticket.
