(NBC News) - A Denver Broncos fan who vanished during last week's game only to be found five days later 90 miles away told police he left because he was sick of the game.

Paul Kitterman, 53, "had his fill of football," Pueblo Police Sgt. Frank Ortega told NBC station KOAA. Kitterman's family had filed a police report after he left his seat at halftime as the Broncos played the San Diego Chargers on Thursday — and never came back.

Denver police said Kitterman — who did not have his cellphone or credit cards with him — was found "unharmed" in Pueblo, Colorado. KOAA reported that he was spotted wandering in a Kmart parking lot on Tuesday and told investigators he hitchhiked and walked the distance. Officials said there is no indication of foul play.
