Mocs' Huesman promises tough week for defense

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB)-- The UTC Football Mocs can enjoy their school best 4-0 Southern Conference start, but the defense can expect a tough work week ahead.
Head Coach Russ Huesman was less than impressed with the team's handling of the Mercer Bears Saturday, who gave UTC a scare before the Mocs won 38-31.
The Bears, the SoCon's top offense, was hard for the Mocs defense to contain much of the game.
Huesman called the defensive team's performance horrible.
" If we don't improve defensively, and I think they're a little full of themselves," said Huesman afterward. "Coming in, they're the number one defense in the league, we're this, we're that, I think they're full of themselves and they're going to get it, they're going to get a taste of how we're going to practice from here on out defensively."
Saturday in Cullowhee, North Carolina, the Mocs face the SoCon's only other unbeaten squad in conference, The Western Carolina Catamounts.
