Westside elementary turns 100. The school opened in 1914 and today was a big celebration.

Students made banners and sang happy birthday to the school.

U.S. Representative Tom Graves was there to give a plaque, which had a picture of the original school house on it.

But the day wasn't all about the school.

"Our kids are thrilled to death, we asked some of our kids to dress up like they were 100 to help us celebrate," said Mike Rich, Westside Elementary Principal.

Superintendent Denia Reese was also presented a 100 year t-shirt.
