Veterans outreach event and job fair to be held in Bradley County

BRADLEY COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -
A veterans outreach and job fair hosted by the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs (TDVA) will be held in Bradley County October 29th.
Nearly 40 federal, state, local public and private partners as well as higher education institutions will be on hand to assist Veterans and their families in Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, Polk and Rhea Counties in getting access to employment opportunities, educational resources, mental health and substance abuse services, business resources and claims assistance.
The event will be held at the Tennessee National Guard Armory located at 4185 Dalton Pike in Cleveland from 10:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m.
Employers such as Wacker Polysilicon, U.S. Forest Service, Tennessee Department of Correction, Tennessee Department of Human Resources and Tennessee Department of Military will be at the event to recruit Veterans for open positions. Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security will offer Commercial Driving Certification for qualified Veterans as well as recruit Veterans for open positions.
Veterans will need to present a copy of their DD-214 and any other service related documents to assist with filing claims for federal benefits.
