Legendary comedian W.C. Fields once said "never work with children or animals," and that's likely what Mike Sobel, a weatherman in Edmonton, Canada, was thinking after he brought his mastiff Ripple on live television in an effort to raise awareness for the local humane society.

During the live forecast, Ripple saw his chance to be a star, tugging at his leash and taking his owner for a walk, eventually even chewing himself free.

As Sobel tried to keep plugging along in the live broadcast, he even tried to get Ripple to sit, but the energetic dog was having no part in such tomfoolery.

Being a true professional, Sobel finished his forecast report as Ripple chewed the leash in half and continued to play, all while on live television.

The jury is still out on whether or not Ripple will return to live broadcasting following his ruff debut.
