MURPHY, NC (WRCB) -
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office arrested 21-year-old Destiny Rose Burgess of Murphy on October 10 on charges of felony breaking and entering at Graves Grocery on Joe Brown Highway.
On September 19, deputies responded to Graves Grocery on reports involved persons breaking and entering into the store and taking items from the store some of which were rolled coins
While processing the crime scene, deputies told investigators that Burgess and another female were in a vehicle that had rolled coins in it. Following leads provided to investigators they were able to obtain warrants for the arrest of Burgess and the other female.
Burgess was arrested and booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center for Felony Breaking and Entering, Larceny after Breaking and Entering and Misdemeanor Larceny.
Burgess was taken before the North Carolina Magistrate who issued a $3,000.00 secure bond and set a October 21 Cherokee County District Court date.
Burgess posted the secure bond and was released the same day.
