Chattanooga police have charged a man with solicitation to commit first degree murder after they say he posted a threat to his public Facebook page and linked a Channel 3 story.

Police arrested Demetrice Carson after they say he made a clear threat to kill a recent shooting victim.

In the post, Carson said Ladarius Nollie should be "knock[ed] off" for testifying against a known gang member in court. According to the affidavit, police believe Carson, a convicted felon, could carry out the threat because of his gang ties.

Nollie testified in a preliminary hearing that Jermichael Brooks shot him. Nollie's girlfriend told police the two fear for their safety and have received "numerous death threats."

Nollie is currently in jail on unrelated charges.
