Less than a month before elections, voters speak up

CATOOSA COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -  With less than a month before Election Day, candidates are hitting the road to get every vote they can.

As politicians hit the campaign trail, voters are speaking up saying they want change.

It's Gospel Night at Cloud Springs Deli in Ringgold.

“We have poker, music, gospel and wrestling,” George Lepre said.

It's where you can hear some of your favorite Gospel songs, catch up with friends and grab a quick bite to eat.

For owner George Lepre, events like this help him stay in business.

“It saved our business. The Gospel music and wrestling along saved our business throughout the whole winter time. Without it, we would have been closed two years ago,” he said.

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal understands the struggle businesses have gone through the past few years.

“We've cut taxes on our citizens and our businesses and all of that has resulted in our state to be considered the best state in which to do businesses,” Deal said.

But Lapre wants to see the state government do more for small business owners like himself.

“Even before we open up the doors, we have to pay so much. It's kind of hard, you just say really?” he said.

And give places like Cloud Springs Deli a chance to thrive.
