GORDON COUNTY, GA (WRCB) - A Gordon County man is facing charges after he reportedly stole a heavy duty tree trimmer and then got it stuck in his backyard.

Deputies received word that a heavy duty, mobile tree trimming vehicle was stolen from a business in Sugar Valley on September 24.

Investigators were able to pinpoint a suspect with the help of security video. The trail led about 100 yards away to a house where they found the trimmer. They say it was sunken to its axle in the home's septic system.

“It would have been extraordinarily difficult to conceal the stolen property, given it's size,” detectives say.

The suspect, Richard Kinsey, had been using it to cut and stack wood.

He was arrested October 2 after abandoning a lawn mower he was riding when he spotted deputies. He was taken into custody following a short chase.

He faces charges of theft and burglary.
