Suspended Moc caught in prostitution investigation
CHATTANOOGA,TN (WRCB)--A Chattanooga Moc is suspended from the football team as he faces an accusation of patronizing a prostitute, but UTC says the incidents are unrelated. UTC'S Sports Information Director Jay Blackman confirms freshman defensive lineman Zach Rasmussen has been suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules, the move coming Wednesday from Head Coach Russ Huesman. Thursday, WRCB learned Rasmussen has an October 18th deadline to appear on a misdemeanor count of patronizing a prostitute. The 19 year old Rasmussen was recently stopped by a Chattanooga PD Vice detective, who was working an internet prostitution investigation when Rasmussen came in contact with the investigating officer. U-T-C says Rasmussen's suspension has nothing to do with his impending legal issue, for which he has a November 11th court date in Judge Gary Starnes court toom. Rasmussen, a 6 '4, 275 pound defensive lineman out of St. Benedict in Memphis, hasn't played a game for the Mocs this season.
