Posted: Updated:

A $1,000 reward is being offered by private funding for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) who sabotaged the Ironman bicycle route Sunday.

Oil and tacks were put along the cycling leg of the course in Walker County, which created problems and flat tires for about 30 competitors.

Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson made the reward announcement Thursday in a news release, stating that the reward will be administered by the Walker County Sheriff's Office.

Anyone having information can contact the Walker County Sheriff's Office at 706-638-1909 Ext. 224 or www.walkerso.com.
