SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, TN (WRCB) - A hang glider crashed into trees Thursday in Sequatchie County after a take-off attempt from the ramp atop Lewis Chapel Mountain.

The Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office Specialized Response Team, Dunlap Fire Department Technical Rescue Team, Lewis Chapel Fire Department, and Puckett EMS joined forces to rescue the pilot, who was stuck some 75 feet above the ground.

The crews located the pilot, who needed help safely descending the position in the tree.

The pilot, who is still unidentified, was not injured in the accident and once rescued, was able to walk out of the woods without assistance.
